oh, hey reader.

Didn't see ya there, literally, because I am in the past, writing to you, in the future. It's Sunday night, and I've been thinking a lot about routine, and one conclusion is that I likely would benefit from a set time to write these newsletters. Realistically, I should also be writing other miscellaneous things throughout the week. Then, this glorious rant can be a conglomeration of, or fueled, charged, or inspired by, whatever escaped my mind at a previous time.

I'm recalling thinking to myself (is there any other way to think? other than to yourself?) at breakfast this morning, "Well, if I'm having big thoughts, shouldn't that be enough? What's the benefit of writing them down? They don't actually leave my head either way, but maybe there is something to the writing part?" I'd like to add now that the act of writing it down, be that digitally or single copy, makes it somewhat of a discourse, something that can actually be referenced at a beck and/or call, unlike a thought that we may or may not remember accurately.
Long pause while I didn't do much of anything, other than continue to be in a prolonged state of ADHD paralysis, yay. (yes, you heard it here first, context to why I'm so fascinated with routines) See, this paralysis comes from having too many choices, so the default is to make none. Unless, of course, it's necessary, and obviously then it's the last moment. Ultimately, I'll be dissatisfied with my input because I did not allocate appropriate time.. because too many choices and defaulting to making none. Knowing one of my vicious little cycles doesn't mean I know what to do about it.

So, instead of self psychoanalysis, I should entertain you with something of perceivable value. Oh, how about some absolute bullshit.

Did you know that some places that do counter service utilize a tipped wage? Now, for context, counter service is when you order at a counter and are either handed your food right then, as it might have been prepared per your verbal instruction, or a number that will identify where your food goes once it is ready. So you order and pay before you eat. Some places, with models like this, are paying a subminimum wage. I was tuned into this while interviewing for a management position. This company could afford to advertise a management position with a salary range, but won't pay their employees a minimum wage? This is why people don't like tipping, because places like that are exploiting labor, legally. Seriously, just because you have the opportunity to take tips doesn't mean you should use that to justify paying your people less. Sure, sure, full service restaurants, yeah, yeah, yeah.. counter service? Absolutely not. That work is much different than waiting tables. Safe to say that the job was not a good fit.

That was the bullshit. I hope it was entertaining.
Same time next week?
